Post Production in Film Fund (This Fund is currently Closed)

Skillset's Film Skills Fund is the largest fund in the UK dedicated to support Film specific training.

Skillset has distributed around £7 million in grants a year, since the fund was established in April 2004 by Skillset and the UK Film Council to support the delivery of A Bigger Future - the UK Film Skills Strategy.

Grants for individuals & freelancers: (This fund is currently closed)

Also called Screen Bursaries, are money for you to spend on training. You could get up to a maximum of 80% support to spend on training if you are a freelancer and up to a maximum of 70% if you are in permanent employment.

Support for Freelancers (This fund is currently closed)

A major part of Skillset's remit is to ensure that freelancers in the creative media industries have the right skills at the right time. We offer information and careers advice, bursaries, subsidised courses, and other training resources to support freelancers in maintaining and advancing their skills. If you are an experienced freelancer you should be able to access a reduced rate on a range of programmes that Skillset funds, as well as making use of the various free services we offer.

This is a project designed to raise the skill levels of the UK freelance post production community. This program is specifically targeted towards the creative role of compositors within post production, with the aim of maintaining the UK's position as leading provider of high end creative talent whilst continuing to develop internally and attract major projects to the UK.
