FCPX with a 'Heads up Display'
Published: Friday, January 20, 2012
Yanobox launch 'Moods' a colour corrector plugin for FCPX with a 'Heads up Display'
This is a unique colour correction plugin from the people who bought you Motype and Nodes. Now you can colour correct in FCPX without taking your eyes off the viewer!
So what makes Moods different from all the other colour correction plugins and methods out there? Six circles are superimposed over your footage and you can move virtual controls on each which will then adjust the look. You get onscreen controls of Desaturate/Silver/Contrast, Exposure/Gamma, 3 way colour balance of shadows/mids/highlights and a wheel for washing the shadows with a colour.

Final Cut Pro X - Opt-in or Opt-out?
Published: Saturday, August 06, 2011
If you look at some of the reactions to FCPX on the web anyone would imagine that Apple had just killed the golden goose and replaced it with a dysfunctional turkey. There were and still are shouts like "I want my tracks back" and "Where is my XML import capability from FCP 7 and my 'send to' Motion functionality?"
I believe that the decision to write off FCPX may well be a shortsighted and misguided call. FCPX is a totally new approach to the task of editing and one that I believe is far more 'fit for purpose' than its predecessor in a lot of critical ways.
