If you choose to attend one of our Skillset supported short courses you can be sure that:
- the course follows best practice for the television industry;
- the course will give you tangible skills that are in demand within the television industry, greatly enhancing your career prospects.
This is because Skillset funds training providers who run courses for freelancers that meet a range of criteria set out by our industry representatives.

Eligible TV Freelancers
All those who benefit from the Skillset TV Freelance Fund must be working in the UK television industry, and able to demonstrate relevant professional experience within the Creative Media Industries.
Assistance is only available to:
-Those who are currently employed on a fixed term contract of not more than 364 days or;
-Those who are currently in employment but can evidence that they have been given a date for the termination of employment and will become freelancers or;
-Those who are currently unemployed but have previous professional working experience in the industry.
The following people are not eligible for support;
-Those who are on one or a series of renewable contracts with one employer in the industry lasting more than 364 days.
-Those in full time education.
-Non UK residents.
